The purpose of any ‘Loyalty Scheme’ has to be to ensure that customers will return to the store for future purchases. In order to achieve this there has to be an incentive for them to obtain future goods from your shop. Traditional schemes work on a ‘points’ basis where a card is used to accumulate points that can be ‘cashed in’ at a later date against goods or services. The main problem with this type of scheme is that the points value tends to be quite small and it is impossible for the customer to see the real value of their card at any time. The Merlin® Loyalty Discount Scheme works by rewarding the customer every time they visit with a tangible and easily definable Discount Voucher. This voucher is printed at the time of the transaction and can be redeemed at any of your stores within a specified time period if appropriate.
Whenever a member of your Customer Loyalty Scheme makes a purchase from your store, the system calculates what level of discount is applicable to them and prints a special tear-off voucher at the end of the till receipt i.e. if a customer spent £200 and had a Loyalty Scheme discount of 2% then a voucher to the value of £4 would be printed. This voucher can then be tendered for goods or services on their next or subsequent visit. Customers can have different levels of ‘discount’ i.e. Gold, Silver, Bronze, etc. Special offer schemes can also be run as part of product or seasonal promotions to provide even greater incentives for people to shop with you!
NOTE: Additional modules must be purchased in addition to the Merlin Retail Manager Module and cannot run as stand alone modules.
